Ray Salcido

I was born in Washington D.C. and have two sisters and one brother. I have been happily married for 23 years and have twins, one boy and one girl. I enjoy all types of sports and leisure activities. I am a licensed clinical social worker with a thriving private practice in Laguna Hills California. I specialize in helping individuals and families shift from living in a state of constant crisis to living with balance.

I am the vice president of a charity organization called Going To Bat. It is a non-profit organization to help improve the lives of youths around the world. The mission is to provide any child who wishes to play baseball or softball with the means and the opportunity, providing a viable option to other destructive options.

I received my Bachelors of Arts from California Lutheran College in 1980. In 1988 I received my Masters of Social Work from the University of California, Los Angeles. Since graduating from UCLA I have worked in psychiatric hospitals, residential treatment centers for boys in the juvenile justice system. I have been in private practice since 1990 in Laguna Hills California.

WHAT I STAND FOR

I came from a divorced family with a lot of chaos growing up. I have felt compelled to teach and provide individuals and families an opportunity to have more balance in their lives. To understand that destructive chaos can lead to self-destructive actions and repeated negative outcomes.

I asked the question, “Why do the traditional treatments such as drug and alcohol rehabs, halfway houses, AA and medication appear to not be very helpful to people living with chaos?” Because I believe the root cause lies underneath the tangible addictions (drugs, alcohol, etc) The addiction to chaos that is a non-tangible addiction is what no body treats.

I believe that the tangible addictions are merely symptoms of the real problem that lies underneath and untreated. But, I also believe with my help we can treat those symptoms and begin to bring balance to the chaos that may be plaguing your life.
